Topic: CSV (Comma Separated Values) - Exported files Posted: 12 Feb 2013 at 7:42pm |
Hi all,
As many users will know, BullCharts can export data to a CSV file, for import into a spreadsheet or other program (eg. OpenOffice Calc, or Microsoft Excel, etc.). (The exported data can be simple price data, or the results of a scan, or more.) BullCharts has been exporting the data into a CSV file, using the tab character as the field delimiter. These days this seems to cause a problem for some Microsoft Excel users, because Excel seems to expect the field delimiter to be the comma character, and not a tab character. We are looking at implementing a program change so that in future, BullCharts will export data to CSV files using the comma character as a delimiter. Happy to take feedback on this. If anyone heavily uses CSV files, and has some experience with this? Or perhaps this change might cause a problem for someone? Happy to listen and discuss Robert Brain (forum moderator) |
