Firstly congrats on some great imporvements!
- floating window is a bonus and really useful
- a couple of bug fixes that have removed some minor irritations
- a HUGE thanks for multi-scan, it's great.  Not tested in detail but so far so good.

I do have 2 requests that I think many would also find useful...

1. An undo function.  Occasionally I make a mistake and delete the wrong object (no comments please!).  It would be great to click "undo" to put it back rather than having to re-do the item that was deleted.

2. A copy function.  In particualar, I like to copy a trend line and place it somewhere else on the same chart.  This doesn't appear to be possible at the moment.  I have to manually re-draw another one along side and then move it. Have I missed something?

These 2 'features' aside, it's great.   Keep up the excellent work.

Since updating Bullcharts, I can't edit an existing Tradesim code. 

The backtest routine still runs OK, but if I now try to edit, an error occurs saying that the "entrytrigger" parameter (referenced in the exit tab for the purpose of defining a trailing stop loss), is unrecognised in the exit tab.  This occurs even if no actual change is made when in edit mode.

Re:the freeze problem. I have this occasionally too. I am on dial-up and have found that when I try to close BC via the topright X while connected to the net it sometimes freezes. If I close the net connection it then shuts down straight away?? But it does seem worse the longer BC is active.

re Metastock Data:  I get hourly updates during the day, but toget BC to read the data after getting the update, I have to close BC,then Re-open it. Whilst this works OK (ignoring the freezing bit), it'sjust fiddly more than anything else.

What would be good if there was an option to force BC to re-read theMetastock data, and therfore re-fresh the charts, without having toclose, then open BC.


RE the Template issue, the problem only started happening with the new version. Screen captures on the way!

Some users report when the BC is minimised a problem can happen.  We are having trouble duplicating in the office.

 

Re Metastock - can you explain more as you may have mentioend to someone else.

thanks Brendon, sorry about the last post.

I have also had the 'Freeze' problem mentioned, and it also appears tobe when BC has been open for a while.  I cant really identify acommon link as I tend to leave it open and go backwards and forwardsbetween programs.  It usually appears for me when I right-click in the BCIcon on the task bar and close from there.  I dont often use the Xin the top right of the page to close.

One more thing, I know you have this on the books but whats the statusof an option for forcing BC to read Metastock data without having toclose and open BC; this is why I see the freeze situation as I have toclose and open BC each time I get my hourly data update throughout theday.

Hi Brendon,

I have played with this some more. Turns out I only get the freeze problem when BC has been open a while - say 30 minutes. If BC is only open for say less than 10 mins then I get a normal shutdown. The freeze after 30 mins problem does not seem to depend on what other programs are open. I typicaly have Outlook, Mozilla Firefox and Commsec pro open.

I hope this helps to diagnose the problem.

Yes we understand there is a problem from various reports. It is on the list but the steps suggested above and from others has not allowed us to see the same problem on our machines.  There needs to be some other factor as well.

As a contrast one user reported all fine when click on the top X (different to your experience). However minimised BC and then open had it freezing.  We have tried leaving a number of different tests to try and help.

We will continue to try to find what the issue is.

BTW - what happens when close all windows first then click on X in the main app?

Hi Brendon,

Step is simply to close the program with top right cross, click save none in dialog box and then the program freezes so I have to ctrl,alt delete to get windows task manager to end the program.

I had understood that this was a recogniosed problem and that the development team had it on the list of to doos.

Thanks. From what I see the save based on time period is only available to switch on/off when IntelliCharts is checked.  If you uncheck IntelliCharts later then the option for save based on different time periods is greyed out suggesting not active.


However, it seem to have odd behaviour when Time period is ticked but greyed out and IntelliCharts is off.

Best for now have ticked off Time period if don't want that feature.  Shall do some tests.

I checked again the different options and can't duplicate what you say.  Owen is using the Metastock option.  I tested that as well and was fine.

When have lines studies saved for each time period it clears for the next time period so you can then add unique lines to say weekly,  Then switch back to daily and it had its own studies.  If switch off then the chart will retain the last view lines studies.

Owen can you check again and make a note of what steps you used to see if we can reproduce.

First start with a chart that has no lines at all.

Second test with a chart that you know had lines before.
