Default (Ordinaries) is telling us two things.

BullCharts has a Default set of securities. This is the securities that a scan will search if it hasn't been explicitly told to look at something else. Default (Ordinaries) is first telling us that the scan is going to scan the this default group of securities, and second telling us that the Default group is currently set to "Ordinaries".

"Ordinaries" is all securities that have the security type of "Ordinary". Most of these securities are fully paid ordinaries. So this is not to be confused with the All Ords, which is an index that occasionally contains a few things that aren't ordinaries, such as unit trusts.

So, David's suggestion works because you're telling that scan to scan on everything in the All Ords as well.

But, if you wanted all of your scans to scan in the "All Ords" instead of "Ordinaries" you could change the default, so that it would apply to every scan that is set to use the Default group. To do this:
1. Press F6 to open the security manager
2. Expand All Securities / Index composition
3. Right-click on "All Ordinaries" and select "Default scan group"

Now if you go into a scan that previously said "Default (Ordinaries)" it will have changed to "Default (All Ordinaries)". Similarly, if you had selected S&P/ASX 200, they would now say "Default (S&P/ASX 200)"

Same thing happens in fundamental scans using Default (ordinaries) in that a bunch of stocks should show up and they don't, and it is not until you go into the security manager and add the All Ordinaries index that you get the missing stocks showing up. Can someone pls confirm if I have a bullscan that uses theDefault(Ordinaries) then all securities should be listed under the"Scan results" tab or "Rejects" tab.

On my "initial high" scan some securities dont appear in either,although I can chart the security and it is listed in the securitymanager under "All Ordinaries".

This is weird and doesn't make sense to me?


Any help pls
